How long has the farm been open to the public?
This fall is the sixth year Hill Creek Farms will be in operation.
Is membership required?
No, Hill Creek Farms is open to the public.
What is the cost of leasing three trees?
Sets of three trees (Jonagold, Cameo and Fuji, growing side-by-side) are available for $225.
Are pets allowed on the farm?
Due to insurance regulations, pets are not allowed on the farm.
Hill Creek Farms Apple Pie Eating Contest
The winner will receive a free ½ bushel of apples you pick yourself. You will also receive one of our fresh apple pies from our bakery. This will be open to ages 12 and up. Please contact brenda@hillcreekfarms.com to sign up for this contest. Sign up is by 5:00pm the Friday before.
TIME LIMITS
This competition is based on speed. The contestant who completely finishes their pie & crust first will be declared the winner. If no participants finish their pie within 10 minutes from the start time, the judges will determine the winner based on who ate the most of his/her apple pie based on weight left in the tin.
HANDS RULE
No hands during the 10 minutes of this competition. Please sit on your hands.
DECLARATION OF THE WINNER
Upon finishing, the contestant will raise up his or her hands with an open, empty mouth displaying to the judges that they have completed their pie.
OTHER RULES/POLICY
Any visible signs of sickness will cause disqualification. Judges will be on hand to assure adherence to the Pie Eating Contest rules as outlined in this document. They will monitor the no-vomiting rule, and the sitting on your hands rule. All pie must be placed in the mouth and no stashing or tossing of pie is allowed. Contestants may only start eating their pie after the start signal. By entering into this contest, Hill Creek Farms may use your name & image in any promotional materials such as their website, Facebook, etc
We are closed for the 2014 Season
We would like to thank you for making this a fantastic Fall Season! We will be reopening in late August for the 2015 season. We expect a full harvest, and we hope to see you then.
